Eastend Munnar

Munnar is nestled in Idukki, a district famous for the hilly and rocky terrains in Kerala. Munnar derives its name from the Malayalam and Tamil languages, which means three rivers. It is because at this place the confluence of three mountain rivers takes place. It is pronounced as Moon-aar. They meet in the center of the town and are Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. Situated at an altitude of 1600 m above sea level, its salubrious climate with the laidback atmosphere and the scenic sight will give a soothing effect to your mind and body. It is surrounded by gently undulating hills of the Annamalai Range with abundant of flora and fauna. Anamudi, south India’s highest peak, at 2695 meter is a part of this range. It was a summer hideout of the erstwhile British rulers because of the cool climate and the mesmerizing mountain scenery. The tea plantations, mountain streams, valleys, flora, fauna, and new surprises at every bend, offers a great variety of choices for you.
