Location
This first-class historic hotel is situated on a main road in Funchal, only a few steps from the pebble beach. The center with all its tourist hotspots can be reached within around a quarter mile. There is a direct connection to public transportation, and a number of bars, restaurants and shops are just a few yards away. It is about 10 miles to Funchal (FNC) Airport.

The hotel was built in 1891. Guests have a choice of 35 suites and 128 double rooms located in a 5-story main building and a 6-story auxiliary building.
